SiliconAndhra ManaBadi Creates History: After 3 years of continued efforts and several meetings with Telugu Linguists and Telugu Language professors in U.S institutions, and multiple revisions of the books to comply with California State Standards and guidelines, on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 Silicon Andhra ManaBadi ‘s Telugu language curriculum was approved by Fremont Unified School District, Board of Education as a World language to be offered as ‘For Credit’ course in FUSD high schools.

Students in grades 9–12 attending any of the Fremont Unified School District’s high schools will now be able to enrol in a Telugu class offered by Silicon Andhra ManaBadi and earn high school credits.

Silicon Andhra ManaBadi is the only Telugu language school in the World to have received this recognition. We take this opportunity to thank Fremont Unified School district Staff and Board of Education for giving Silicon Andhra ManaBadi the opportunity to serve and to provide an opportunity to heritage and non- heritage families’ to learn Telugu.

SiliconAndhra ManaBadi Dean Raju Chamarthi said ‘This recognition means a lot to the hundreds of volunteers who work for ManaBadi. This recognition is only the beginning as several other school districts’ across USA are going to recognize ManaBadi curriculum in the near future’. SiliconAndhra Founder Chairman, Anand Kuchibhotla said ‘This is a historic moment for the Telugu language in general and for the Telugu people living in USA in particular. In the 75 years of Telugu immigrant’s history, achieving this distinction by SiliconAndhra ManaBadi feels simply great.’ Sridevi Ganti, Santhi Kuchibhotla and Venkat Konda led this initiative of getting the recognition.

Silicon Andhra ManaBadi, started in 2007, is the world’s largest non-profit Telugu Language school with more than 4000 students. ManaBadi Telugu classes are also taught all across U.S in 40 states and in 15 countries outside of U.S.

“మనబడి మనబడి అంటూ” – ప్రణవి మరియు జాహ్నవి సమర్పణ!

This video was shot on a whim using a Blackberry. The song is about ManaBadi and the value of learning ones mother tongue. The words and sentences in the song are so deeply emotional and inspiring. The tranquility in the girls’ voices, the lucidity of their singing, the serendipity in Raju gari expression – he seems to be looking into the bright future of ManaBadi – these encapsulate the spirit of ManaBadi! Every time we listen to it, we are sure to feel inspired and rejuvenated.
